Sick Kid

My poor little Simon was so sick yesterday! It just broke my heart! Thank you Kelsie for taking such good care of him while he was there (you should never have to clean up someone elses kids puke!). Before you think I'm an awful person, I didn't know he was sick when I took him to the sitter! I swear! Anyway, he was miserable all night and couldn't hold anything down! He is such a daddy's boy...poor Cody had to be by his side all night. He's such a great dad! I thought this was a tender picture of them snuggling. He is feeling much better today...still a little crappy, but at least he can hold his food down!

Dr. Suess Night

Thank you so much Linda for inviting us to come to the Dr. Seuss night at your school! Who knew kids could have so much fun in so much chaos!
The kids had a lot of fun doing the fish ponds (yes, we had to do wait in two lines for these dang fish ponds!)
I think it made Cody's whole day that Simon loved "fishing"!
Simon waited as long as he possibly could, and he finally couldn't take it anymore....he had to plop himself down right in the middle of the jam packed hall and look at his prizes!
We really did have a good time. It's always fun to spend time doing these fun things as a family!

Friday Night

So, since our source of entertainment decided to ditch us for the night (that would be Hayley and Travis), we decided to have a night on the town, just Cody Simon and me! So, a night on the town for us consists of walking around Sams Club. I know, I know...so romantic, right? Well that's the G rated version! The R rated version shows us actually holding hands while we stroll around Sams Club (before you ohhhh and awwww at how sweet that is, Simon was between us demanding to hold both our hands!). Once we realized Simon can out run both of us up and down the isles we decided to call in some Chinese (weird, I know...I just like the fried rice!) and just go home. The rest of our evening consisted of driving to pick up our order (all the while hearing Cody say "El Toro Viejo" in as many different accents as possible...serioulsy!), driving home (with me spending a good 10 minutes trying to remember the title of this new cartoon that Simon loves). We get home, enjoy our food and go to bed! Oh wait, I forgot to include that now before Simon goes to bed he has to "snuggle with dad's arm" and he has to hold on to Cody's ear lobe....he's a weirdo! So, what did we learn from this fun filled evening??? Hayley and Travis must NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER LEAVE US!!!! So, Hayley, I hope you enjoyed your evening, cause next time you have to take us with you! :)

I'm Cookoo for CoCo Puffs!

Now, let's talk about this for a minute! My specific instructions were "Simon, eat your cereal like a big boy while mommy takes a quick shower." Simple enough, right? Now, you professional moms out there could rattle off the million mistakes I made right there in that moment. What word exactly didn't he understand? Was it "eat", "big boy", or "quick"? I can tell you which words he DID understand...."mommy take a shower", which in baby language obviously means "sweet, mom's going to be out of sight for 7.5 minutes! Make as big of a mess as possible!". For those of you wondering, yes 7.5 minutes is a quick shower for me! Don't judge me for enjoying my shower! Needless to say this was one of those days where I thought "why do I even bother trying to clean my house, or dress my kid? " And you might think the look on Simons face is one of "hey look what a big boy I am?", but being his mom, I know better. That look is "OK, I surrender, I'll "stick 'em up!"

I'm still here!

Whoa, I am sucking at this blogging thing lately! Sorry, it's been a busy, fun filled weekend with Heather and Jody and the kids in town! Simon sure does love playing with his cousins! Poor Trayson just can't get a moment alone when Simon is around. He just follows Trayson everywhere! Thanks Tray for being such a good sport! And Simon is so tender with baby Brielle! It's so sweet to watch and kind of makes me want another one....but, still working on Cody on that one! So, I'm using that as my excuse for not blogging lately. I'll try to get some pictures posted soon.

Tiny Moment Valentine Edition

There seriously is nothing better than your kid being old enough to make you a Valentine! Of course he had a little help from Kelsie (thank you Kelsie), but it absolutly made my whole day! Now, don't get me wrong....I love my husband and he spoiled my for Valentines Day! So, to both of the men in my life, I love you both so much! Cody, thank you for being such an amazing husband and father, and Simon, thank you for being the best thing to ever happen to your dad and me!

Tagged

I've been tagged again! This one is about my husband.. Cody!
What is your husbands full name: Cody Michael Johnson
How long have you guys been together: We have been friends ever since Cody got home from his mission, but we have officially been together since May of 2001.
How long did you date: I'm embarrassed to say we only dated for 2 months before we were engaged, and then two months after that we were married. But remember- we were best friends before all of that!
How old is he: 29
Who eats more: I'm pretty sure Cody eats more than me....but I can pack it in pretty good as well! :)
Who said I love you first: Um...that would be me....and I didn't get an immediate response back! Not a good sign! But eventually he came to his senses!
Who is taller: This is a touchy subject. To be quite honest I think I'm slightly taller. But Cody will never admit that and he says we are EXACTLY the same heigth!
Who is smarter: Cody! I am seriously dumber than a sack of bricks....don't believe me, just play a little trivial persuit with me. You'll be amazed that one person can really be that dumb! Cody has a photographic memory, so it's hard to compete with that!
Who does the laundry: Cody helps out quite often, but to be honest I'd rather he didn't fold the laundry. He doesn't get the creases out of the pants and then when you go to put them on you have funky pant creases!
Who does the dishes: If you saw my house right now you would say that neither of us does the dishes. Mostly it's me. But Cody will help out too!
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed: I do. I don't think we could ever change it up.
Who pays the bills: I do, but I'm not so awesome at it!
Who mows the lawn: Cody mows the lawn and I'm in charge of the flower beds!
Who cooks dinner: We actually eat out alot. But Cody cooks most the time. Thank heavens cause I'm a horrible cook!
Who drives when you are together: Cody always drives when we are together.
Who is more stubborn: This is a tough one, it usually depends on the situation. I would say that we are equally stubborn.
Who kissed who first: Cody kissed me first. I guess he had to make up for the hesitation on the "love you" thing!
Who asked who out first: That one is hard. We were just friends forever and than before we knew it-it was just us hanging out. So no one really asked. But he's the one that brought up the DTR conversation (determine the relationship) thanks to a little push from my sister!
Who proposed: Cody did- and I backed out, than Cody did-and I backed out, than Cody did- and I said yes!
Who has more siblings: We both the middle child of three.
Who wears the pants in our family: I would say he does and he would say I do!
I am tagging... Hayley Kidman, Stacey Irwin, Jen Soto!

Tiny Moments Day 4

Hadley truely was a Tiny Moment. She was so tiny and was here for only a moment. I just wanted to post a little tribute to her as my tiny moment for the day. I am so amazed by Katijo and Jeffs courage at a time like this! I can't even comprehend losing a child and I'm amazed by the positive attitude that they have had this whole time. What a blessing Hadley has been in everyones life, even if for just a moment!

Rasmussen, Hadley Kae

View/Sign Guest Book
Millville, Utah - Our precious little angel, Hadley Kae Rasmussen, left her earthly life and returned into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father after complications of heart surgery and a valiant struggle and fight for14 months. She left her life on earth cuddled in the loving arms of her mother and father, surrounded by her loving and caring family on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at the Primary Children's Hospital. Hadley was born on November 22, 2006 in Logan, Utah, to Jeffrey Ben and Katijo Hansen Rasmussen. Hadley was a very special little angel who brought tremendous joy and happiness to her family during her short stay here on earth. She had the cutest laugh and loved to bounce in her bouncy chair. She loved bright lights, balloons and listening to music. She liked to watch everything her big sister did, and she loved to be rocked and have you tickle her face. Hadley is survived by her parents, Katie and Jeff; her big sister, Oakley Jae of Millville; her grandparents, Wayne and Janice Rasmussen and Scott and Gwen Hansen; great-grandparents, Lloyd and Beth Nyman and Nora Hansen all of Providence; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her very much. We love you Hadley and will miss you very much but will cherish your many wonderful memories until we meet again. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, in the Allen-Hall Mortuary. Friends may call at the mortuary from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday. Interment will be in the Providence City Cemetery. A special thank you to all the doctors and nurses at the Primary Children's Hospital, the Cache Valley Electirc Family as well as all our family and many wonderful friends for their support and loving concern. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests you make a donation to the Primary Children's Hospital in Hadley's memory at Primary Children's Medical Center Foundation, P.O. Box 58249, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84158-0249 Condolences and memories may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net.

Tiny Moments Day 3

OK, Ok....I'm not so great at this Tiny Moments thing. I've already missed a day, but we will just keep on trucking with it! Simon fell in love with the huge snowflakes we got one night. You would think the excitement of snow would have worn off by now since we have gotten so much of it...I know I'm sick of it- but Simon still is amazed by it! Cody was trying to show him how to catch snowflakes on his tongue. I think he succeeded!

Tiny Moments Day 2

We have been attempting to potty train Simon. So, that's my Tiny Moment for the day! I'm so proud of him for trying! He is still pretty young, but he definatly has an interest in it....so, Hey, why not?
Um, yes he has a toy gun ! I hate that thing- and I'm confident that it will accidentally get broke! He likes to hold it while he sits on the potty. He's kind of a weirdo!

"So You Think You Can Dance?"

So, against my better judgement I decided to post these pictures. I look awful and chunky, but I thought it would be fun to show this. Simon has decided that he loves to dance "cheek to cheek". We were dancing while I waited for time to take him to the babysitter before work.
His music of choice lately is Nickel Creek. He likes to dance to them. Maybe he's a bluegrass fan! Although in these pictures we were dancing to "The Way You Look Tonight".
And we always end with a love!

Tiny Moments Day 1

I love the hug I receive from my little Simon whenever I come home from work! It truely makes my heart melt, and now that he's become such a great talker I'm always amazed at the "welcome home" comments I receive from him as well. Usually it's something like "I miss you Mom.", or lately it's "I sure do love you". Sometimes it's something completely off course like "I'm hungry", or "I farted". Whatever the comment, I love it all the same! Being a working mom it's easy to come home and want to just rest, but as soon as you see that little guy all you want to do it be with him whether it's playing or snuggling!

30 Tiny Moments

Thank you Noel for this great idea! I even copied and pasted your explaination on my blog since you explained it so well! I hope I can learn to appreciate all the "tiny moments" in my life!

In an effort to try and post something every day, I came across 30 Tiny Moments and decided to give it a try. The purpose is to document the right now in family life by photographing the ordinary and simple moments of your day. This should be alot of fun, and hopefully this will help me appreciate all of the little things that happen each day.

Some Much Needed Simon Time!

I have had the funnest couple days off work! I was getting a little burned out so I decided to take a little "me and Simon" time away from work! It's been awesome and I'm sad today is the last day of my "mini vacation". We have played and played and played! We have cleaned and cleaned and cleaned! We have attempted the potty training thing....made some progress, but still need some more time!
This is an awful picture of me (how does one look that crappy kissing their kid?), but I think Simon looks so cute! We have bonded so much this last couple days (I know that sounds lame, but I'm a working mom....we really don't get to spend many "awake" hours together). I sure do love my little man!!

Clean Teeth are Happy Teeth!

We are trying to get Simon into some good "tooth brushing" habits. He does pretty good with brushing his teeth and has just recently stopped sucking all the toothpaste off the second it hits his mouth!
Sometimes he does good with letting me "tickle his teeth", that way he gets a decent cleaning! I know....no one wants to hear about my kid brushing his teeth....but what else is there to write about??? :)
