Simon and Sienna

I stumbled upon this pic that I took of Simon and Sienna back in April. It brought a smile to my face so I thought I would post it. These two are cousins and are only 2 weeks apart in age. So, quite literally they are growing up together. They fight like cat and dog, but every once in awhile they find some common ground and you get a priceless scene like this! I get quite excited when I think about the scheming and trouble these two will get into once they reach school age, and I see them being quite protective of each other once they reach high school. This picture makes me wonder what they were doing in heaven while they were waiting to be born! Probably a similar scene!

New Family Pics!

Of course I couldn't put all of the pics on here....mostly cause I don't have time. But my Mother in law paid for all of us to get family pics done for a school fundraiser and as you can see, they turned out great!!! I'd give credit to the lady that took them, but I don't remember her name!
Here is the entire gang!

Grandma and Grandpa and all the grandkids!
I love this one cause it totally shows Simons personality! He was hugging us both so tight!

This one is my absolute favorite pic! I think my kid is pretty much the cutest kid in the entire world!!! And man, my husband is handsome!!
Hayley and Heathers family pics also turned out amazing! I am so glad to be a part of such a great family! Thank you Linda for such a priceless gift!!

Lovin' our Ducks!

We are having so much fun with our ducks! They are possibly one of the greatest pets I have ever had! Incredibly low maintenance, and so fun to watch play! We have had them for a week now and they have almost doubled in size! If it's possible I think they are even cuter now than when they were babies! They look more like ducks instead of chicks. We now let them just roam the yard and they are getting more and more used to us. They don't get scared as easily. They keep "running away" to our neighbors yard but they always come back! I guess they have kind of turned into a neighborhood pet since everyone enjoys watching them.

Simon likes to chase them around, and then they turn around and chase him. It's pretty funny!

They like to play in the water so I let Simon have at it with the hose. I'm pretty sure he had more fun than they did! A lot of people have inquired about this duck as a pet thing...I highly recommend it! They eat very little (we just get grain from IFA). They actually eat the bugs in your yard (that's the main reason I got them, so they would eat the bugs that are eating my plants!) and their poop fertilizes the yard. Surprisingly it's not too messy (the poop that is). Just hose it down! They for the most part stay put in the yard, and if they do wander off they always come back to eat. If any of you have any questions let me know! They are sooooo fun!!!!

New Ducks and Some Family Time

Somehow, Somewhere I got it in my head that I wanted a couple pet ducks. I blame Tyler at work! I thought as they grow up they would be a fun addition to our yard. Surprisingly Cody said we could get some. So, after a couple weeks of hunting (well, not literally "hunting") a friend of mine from work found these ducks for sale in Hyrum. Simon was waiting outside for me when I got home, excited to meet his new pets.

We let Simon name them so of course they got named Donald and Goofy. To be honest I'm a little surprised that he didn't name them Buzz and Woody (he's just slightly obsessed with Toy Story right now). The next day at work Cody called me to say that the ducks were gone! Gone? Like dead? No, they had just ran away....but of course with how little they were that inevitably meant they were dead. I hunted for awhile around the yard when I got home....in the window wells, in the rain gutter, in the flowers....everywhere. No luck! Well, when we woke up this morning Cody looked out the window and said "you have got to be kidding me". There were the ducks! They had found their way home...and they are only a week old! I'm so proud of my little duckies!!!
Today we also decided to skip church (shhh, don't tell!) and spend a little family time up the canyon. We just walked around and enjoyed being in the mountains for a little while. Simon ran around, me and Cody held hands and it was just a really nice day!
