OK...OK! I'll Blog!!!

OK Hayley....Here's a new post! :) Just so everyone understands why my blogs are so far and few between....I have not yet joined the 21st Century and do not have the internet at home! Hopefully this will be the year we get with the times! So, the only chance I get to blog is at work (shhh, don't tell anyone!). Well, as you know Christmas isn't exactly the most relaxing time in retail so needless to say I haven't had time to do any posts. I have some pictures at home on my thumb drive (is that what they call those things) but it's missing, so I am stuck pictureless! Hopefully tomorrow I will find it and I'll bombard you all with millions of pictures cause if you know me at all you know I have a camera stuck in my hands 24/7.
Anyway, we survived the holidays and had a wonderful time! Simon loved opening presents. We only wish Santa would have realized that all Simon wanted was the three mini chocolate bars that were in his stocking! That kid is truely a chocolate freak! I'm not sure who he gets it from...Cody or my mom! Both enjoy their chocolate! I promise Tuesday to get some pics posted on my blog and will tell you more about Christmas (you have to have pics)!

We Love Kelsie!

OK Ashley... I'm updating my blog- now it's your turn!
I don't really have any new cute pictures (If you know me at all I hope you were sitting down for that shocking news!). The holidays have been crazy, but I'm eagerly awaiting Sunday! I actually get to have Sunday, Monday, and of course Tuesday off of work! I didn't even request it! So, that is my favorite surprise so far for Christmas! So, Simon started at his new babysitters yesterday. No, we didn't quit Hayley (although she is too stubborn to realize she has enough on her plate right now to let me quit!):) but the girl I was using for Wed is having her baby today! (Yeah Merrilee!). So, Kelsie is Simons new Wednesday babysitter! She is amazing and I love her so much. She works with me at Best Buy so I know her really well. When I dropped Simon off I was anticipating lots of tears (yes, some from me as well). But Simon was just fine with me leaving! Not a single tear was shed the entire day (including me!). He had so much fun at Kelsies house and he is best buddies with her husband now! All of you who have kids understand the stress involved with leaving your kids in the care of someone else! I can not thank Kelsie enough for being so good to Simon and for helping me out! What a life saver!!!

We Need a Hero!

So, I was going to put some other pics up for my blog, but everything else in the world seems so trivial right now. We are havig some family stress. Some of you know that Travis (my brother-in-law) just found out his cancer is back. I won't go into details, but it's definatly not a good thing! So, needless to say we are all a little down at the moment. But, I thought this picture was cute cause we sure could use a Hero right now to save us all from this crappy stuff! Hayley, I love you so much and wish I could help some how. All I know is God knows what we can and cannot handle and He will never give us more than what we can handle. You are one of the strongest people I know and you and Travis will both get through this!

Getting His First Tooth Pulled!

So, when I took Simon to the dentist when he turned 18 months old they found out he had an extra tooth. The dentist said it's a pretty rare thing, but he recommended getting it pulled. So, last Monday we took Simon in and they sedated him (which was pretty comical...I wish I had video taped it!) and pulled out the tooth. I'm sure it was a bigger ordeal for me than it was for him (but I did pretty good). Anyway, here are some before and after pics. The tooth they pulled is on his left side next to his two front teeth. He was a trooper!

Happy Thanksgiving

So, now that the craziness of "Black Friday" is over (I work at Best Buy, so believe me when I say crazy!!) I can sit back and remember how nice Thanksgiving was! This year we were with Cody's side and it was so nice. Linda makes an amazing turkey! It was nice to be with everyone! Mike did a toast (and yes, he teared up a bit...but it was sweet!) and we all dug in. It's amazing that with all that prep time the meal is consumed in a matter of minutes! As always it was delicious! Heather and Jody and their kids were there and Simon had the time of his life playing with his cousins. He loves them so much! He wouldn't stop kissing baby Brielle (so I guess he'll make a good big brother someday!), and he pretty much followed Trayson and Kutter around all day! Trayson was amazing and sat on the couch and read stories to Simon (which is Simons favorite thing in the world!). I took some pics cause it was so sweet! I am so greatfull for such an amazing family!

A Few New Milestones

So, here are a few of the new milestones Simon has hit recently. First, as I've said before, he has been in this mean stage where he likes to hit and push. So, I've posted his "time out" pictures. He even tattle tales on himself, so at least he's honest about it! It does break my heart to put him in time out, but he is pretty good to stay there until you tell him to come out. Second, he has learned to put on his clothes by himself. It's not too often that they are on the right way...but I think he does a pretty good job. And Third, he has learned to manuver the playground by himself (mom, don't freak out!). He does like to test my nerves and gets really close to the edge when he is up high, but then he laughs and moves back to a safe distance. So, here are some pics of all those milestones.

Family Matters!

Ok, so I don't have a new picture for my blog this time, but I still wanted to post something. So, the Holidays have begun and I'm trying not to be a "bah-humbug". I work retail so for me it's a dreaded time of year. But, the plus side this year is Simon is 18 months old and is going to be soooooo fun! I'm trying really hard not to buy every little thing I see for him! I think Cody is worse than me though, he is excited to finally get toys to play with! Speaking of Holidays, Simon must not understand the "Naughty or Nice" thing yet. He is still in this hitting, pushing stage and it's driving us crazy! He does understand what "time out" is and finds himself standing in the corner frequently. Poor Sienna! He does have his sweet moments though. Just this morning we were playing in his room and he accidentally smacked me in the face with a block. Instantly he bent down towards my face with this concerned look (maybe he thought he was in trouble) and said "You OK Mommy?", than he gave me the tightest hug ever and kissed my cheek! I was in heaven! I wish he was that concerned when he beats the crap out of Sienna! :) I love Simon so much and I'm so glad he is a part of our family! We truely are blessed!

Best of Friends, Worst of Enemies!

Here are some fun pictures from the other day when I got to tend Sienna for a couple hours. Simon and Sienna are cousins and are only 2 1/2 weeks apart in age. Some days they just love each other and are the best of friends, but as with any close relationship sometimes they just drive each other crazy...Ok, so it's more Simon driving Sienna crazy. He is into this pushing, hitting, mean stage- but it's mostly just to her. I don't know if its some macho "I'm a boy" thing, or if he just is trying to get her attention. Hopefully he grows out of it soon. But I did capture some fun "playing nice" moments.

Stinky Kid

This year Simon was a skunk for Halloween. He went trick or treating with his cousins Adyson and Sienna and had so much fun! The best part was watching him from behind because when he ran his tail would wag back and forth. So cute!!

"My Gloves"

Simon is obsessed right now with wearing his gloves! If he sees them on the floor he instantly freaks out and has to put them on. He is actually pretty good at getting them on himself and he can get all his little fingers in the holes (well, most the time).

Carving Pumpkins

We finally carved some pumpkins....well, Cody carved a pumpkin and Simon painted his. He pretty much made a mess, but he had so much fun.

One Last Mow Before Winter

Simon had to get one last lawn mowing in before winter. Turns out we had to go all the way around the block before he got it out of his system. It was a nice day though, and I'm sure there won't be too many more good days for being outside.

Jealousy

I wish I could be little again and be able to play in the leaves! I guess I still could, and I'm sure I'd have this same smile! I sure do love my little guy and we have so much fun playing together!

The Pumpkin Walk

Last night we went to the Pumpkin Walk. I wasn't sure how Simon would like it. He was really quite the whole time, probably just taking it all in. Towards the end of the walk he found his favorite part. The kids got to stick their heads in the fun cartoon cutouts. Simon had so much fun and threw a fit when it was time to leave.

Our Pride and Joy!

This is our little boy Simon Cody Johnson. He is now 18 months old and has so much personality! He had so much fun playing in the leaves at Grandma Tana's house. It is so fun watching him have all these new experiences!
